Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has hinted that Army can be called in Karachi, if needed, to maintain law and order situation in the metropolis.
Malik issued shoot-at-sight orders to get control over the deteriorating security situation in the City.
He was talking to newsmen at MQM Headquarter Nine-Zero on Thursday night after having condolence meeting with the leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement(MQM).
Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and MQM Rabita Committee members were also present on the occasion.
Rehman Malik reached Karachi after three days of bloody violence which had claimed the lives of more than 83 innocent people.
Interior Minister said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani would visit Karachi on Friday to hold meetings with all the stake-holders over the unrest in the metropolis.
He said that important decisions were to be taken in the meetings , to assure that the law and order situation in Karachi witness a visible improvement in the next 24 hours.
Rehman Malik expressed his deep grief over the tragic murder of MQM leader Raza Haider and killing of innocent people in Karachi ,adding, that high-level investigation was being conducted to probe the killing of MQM MPA Raza Haider
He said that it was the responsibility of all the Pakistanis to foil the conspiracy of the anti-Pakistan elements, who wanted to destabilise the country.
He further said that Government would not allow killings to continue saying that some elements were hatching a conspiracy to create chaos in the economic hub of the country.
He announced to provide job to the son of deceased MQM MPA Raza Haider in FIA or Police department.
Earlier,talking to media at Karachi Airport on his arrival, he warned æterrorists and hired criminalsÆ to desist from mischief in Karachi or to be ready for a stern action.
Malik also called on the Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh leadership at Mardan House, the residence of ANP Sindh President Shahi Syed, to defuse the ongoing tension, between the coalition partners MQM and ANP.

کراچی میں فائرنگ اور تشدد کے واقعات میں ہلاک ہونے والوں کی تعداد اٹھتر ہو گئی ہے جس کے بعد وزیر داخلہ رحمان ملک نے ڈائریکٹر جنرل رینجرز کو ملزمان کو دیکھتے ہی گولی مارنے کے حکم دیا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ کراچی میں فوج کو بھی طلب کیا جاسکتا ہے وہ بھی حکومت کا ایک حصہ ہے۔
اس سے پہلے وفاقی وزیر داخلہ رحمان ملک نے کراچی پہنچ کرگورنر ڈاکٹر عشرت العباد اور نائین زیرو پر متحدہ قومی موومنٹ کی قیادت سے ملاقات کی، بعد میں انہوں نے میڈیا سے بات کرتے کہا کہ وہ اب انتہائی سخت اقدامات کرنے جارہے ہیں کسی کو بھی شہریوں کے جان اور مال سے کھیلنے کی اجازت نہیں دی جائیگی۔
