The Trust would also contribute to relief and rehabilitation activities for flood affected areas of District Jhang and Chiniot. Divisional and district administration have mooted the idea of Trust and local philanthropists including representatives of Aptma, 'Young Entrepreneur Organisation (YEO), industrialists, traders and members of civil society have voluntarily decided to materialised it. The members of the Trust would generate funds for public welfare and rehabilitation of flood affectees and also ensure their transparent utilisation.
Commissioner Tahir Hussain and DCO Naseem Sadiq made this disclosure at a media conference on Friday. The Commissioner said that members of the Trust had agreed to construct 1700 homes for flood affected families of district Jhang and Chiniot and initially construction work on 200 homes was going to start very soon.
