FAISALABAD: A large number of people took to streets in Faisalabad against five-day gas cuts to industrial units.
The protesters marched on main city roads and staged token sits-in against the gas blockage. The protestors include daily wagers, contract workers, laborers and owners.
They said that industries had already suffered losses worth Rs.60 billion due to gas cuts. More than 70 percent of industrial units, they claimed, have closed down.
The demonstrators called upon Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take notice of the industrial crisis.
The protest, which lasted for several hours, led to traffic jams.
