Never forced Shoaib to marry: Ayesha

KARACHI: Ayesha Siddiqui, the alleged wife of Shoaib Malik, Saturday said that she had never forced Shoaib to marry her and that it was Shoaib himself who first expressed the intention of getting married.

Talking exclusively to Geo News, Ayesha Siddiqui clarified that she had never chatted with Shoaib over the Internet nor did their first meeting took place on the Internet.

“We first met in Dubai in the year 2000 … I never even recognized in that meeting that he was a Pakistani cricketer,” she claimed.

To a question, Ayesha said: “At first we were only good friends and it was Shoaib himself who disclosed to the media that we had met in Dubai.”

She said her second meeting with Shoaib took place in Jeddah and that Shoaib came to India by receiving a visa from Kenya.

Replying another question about their marital relations, she said: “Shoaib and I stayed together in a hotel in Hyderabad Deccan.”

Replying to another question about their post-marital relations, she said: “Shoaib and I stayed together in a hotel in Hyderabad Deccan.” Later in 2007 Shoaib had stopped contacting me and changed all his phone numbers, she alleged.

She said then she had left all the things up to the will of God. “I tried to contact Shoaib’s relatives including his brother-in-law but to no avail,” she said, adding, Muhammad Yousuf’s wife was the last relative she spoke with in December 2006.

“I have two names, Ayesha and Maha, just like Shoaib has two names, Shoaib and Moon,” Ayesha Siddiqui said in reply to a question.

She said Sania Mirza had never been her friend. Sania and my relatives were on friendly terms though, she added.

Ayesha said her father became too emotional while trying to prove her case before media. And, ironically, it was not for my marriage but for getting me a divorce, she said.

Regarding the reception to the Pakistan cricket team, she said the entire team was invited including Inzimam, Yousuf and Razzaq. “But it was not this house because of security reasons,” she added.

She said she could not meet with Shoaib Malik at that time because there were no ladies there.

Ayesha Siddiqui also alleged that once Shoaib Malik had said that he felt humiliated because of her being chubby. “When I asked him if I should lose weight, he said I would look ugly even after shedding weight,” she added.
